WELCOME TO GSU CREW
Rowing Club at Georgia State University
On October 8th, 2016 Gsu crew woke up early to make the trek to Chattanooga for the annual Chattanooga Head Race. Entered to race that day was a Men's Varsity 4+, Women's Championship 1x, Mixed 8+, and two Mixed Master 4+'s. Due to the windy weather, the course was shortened from 5000m to 2500m. The wind meant that the Novice Mixed 4 was scratched, but the Varsity Mixed 4 still competed later that day. The Men's Varsity 4+ raced against 27 other boats in the third race of the day, while our team captain came in first for the Women's Championship 1x. Despite the intense winds constantly pushing the boat, the Mixed 8+ still competed, which was the first event for all of the season's novice rowers. The Mixed 4 that stayed in the race won gold as they came in with a time of 10:38.1.
The Chattanooga Head Race was a great intro to the season, and the Gsu crew is proud of it's Women's Championship 1x and Mixed Masters 4+ that won first that day!
