WELCOME TO GSU CREW
For the final regatta of the season, the team traveled back to Lake Lanier for ACRA, where teams from across the country competed for national recognition. The weather that weekend proved to be difficult as wind gusted across the course, and thunderstorms ended up cancelling the finals for the men's 2-, and the men's novice 4+ that Sunday. However, all three boats still competed in the time trials Saturday, and the women's 2-, competed in their final Saturday as well. The time trial for the women's 2- proved to be interesting as the boat was hit by another team at the finish line, causing them to flip and coming in .1 second behind their competitors. No hard feelings were exchanged as the women's pair went on to beat them in their rep later that day. The men's pair raced twice Saturday as well, in both their time trial and rep, and moved along to finals on Sunday although they did not compete. The same situation occurred for the novice men as they raced twice Saturday and had their final cancelled that Sunday.
The regatta was an excitement to be at as so many top tier teams from around the country came together to compete.
